Club History
What We Know
Unfortunately there is no running History on the Warriors only what has been pieced together over the years. At some point the Wolverines Netball Club (from Woodford) joined the Wamuran Netball Club to become the Wamuran Warriors, the below peices were scourced from the CNA 30th Anniversary book.
In the Wamuran Netball Club write up, it states, the Club was involved with the Wamuran Sporting Association, to which sporting facilities were built on Campbells Pocket Rd to support Cricket, Hockey, Netball, Tennis and later on Little Athletics.
Over the years the Wamuran Warriors out grew their courts and moved their training to the Woodford School. Despite the relocation they remained affiliated with the Wamuran Sporting Association, continuing to share duties and assisted with running in the Friday night dinners, so long as "Wamuran" remained in their name. The Sporting Association closed at the end of 2015, these dinners were a fantastic financial support for all the local Clubs involved and were immensely popular within the Wamuran and surrounding areas.

After the closure of the Sporting Club, sponsorship was difficult to source for a Club that was based in Woodford yet had Wamuran in their name, so it was decided to simplify the logo to the Warriors Netball Club.
Continued growth in the area seen the Warriors start the 2016 season with a new home at the Woodford Showgrounds where they had lights, more courts and their own clubhouse and it was the transition year a new logo. The ball from the old Wamuran Warriors logo remains the ball of the current Warriors logo, so that history is not lost with change.
The Club lost everything in the 2022 floods but through community spirit and adversity they have rebuilt have 2 amazing new courts, new lights and the future is definately looking bright.

Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!
